The Laurencekirk Thursday Morning Coffee Group has donated another £100 to the local Scout Group’s roof appeal.

The group holds a coffee morning in the Blue Room at the Community Centre every Thursday from 10am - 11.30am. Volunteers take it in turns to provide the home bakes and serve tea and coffee, and members can nominate good causes to receive the proceeds.

When Scout Group chairperson Avril Nicoll handed in a letter of thanks for the donation, Mrs Cargill, who runs the group with Mrs Medlock, invited her to say a few words to the packed room.

Avril said she knew from looking around at the familiar faces that many of those attending had also supported the Scout Group’s fundraising efforts in other ways, and all of this is very much appreciated.
