Cash discovered in Stonehaven bin


Police Scotland are investigating the discovery of a large sum of money in a bin in Stonehaven by members of the public on Monday.

The cash was discovered at a public building.

A police spokesperson said: “The money is a medium four-figure sum, all in bank notes, and officers are keen to trace the owners.

“Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

News of the discovery has caused quite a discussion with those who handed it in being praised as well as cheeky punters on our Facebook claiming they may have misplaced some cash.

One comment said: “Well done to the person that handed it in, honesty costs nothing.”
