Cycling brothers shine in 16th ‘Tour de Catterline’ brothers cycle to success
The recent 16th ‘Tour de Catterline’ bike ride produced two pint-size stars this year - four-year-old Rurik Gowland and his brother Magnus (7).
The lads, both keen cyclists, fairly impressing the adults with their performance.
Completing the course with their parents, Fiona and Ben, Rurik was awarded a prize for displaying ‘incredible energy and stamina.’ He is the youngest ever participant to complete the eight-mile loop on his own bike.
Fiona said: “He was clocked by his dad at 28mph coming down one of the hills!”
Big brother Magnus, also an incredible cyclist, finished fourth in the under-12 years category, with a time of one hour and one minute.
The family also took part in the Great Stonehaven Bike Ride, and the boys are believed to be the youngest participants to complete the course this year. They completed the 11-mile route in an impressive one hour and 13 minutes.
