The lights were a huge hit this year.

A group of Stonehaven residents who delighted locals with their elaborate Christmas lights have raised £5500

for charity.

Tom and Patricia Bruce, of Malcolms Way, and several of their neighbours put on an impressive display of festive lights every December, and each year they leave out collection buckets and select a charity as recipients.

Cancer Research and Clic Sargent have both benefitted in the past, and this year the kind-hearted residents chose to raise money towards a new kidney dialysis unit in Stonehaven.

Tom got in touch with he Leader to tell us that those who went along to see the lights raised £5287.

He added: “A friend of mine from Tunisia sent money to round up to an amazing total of £5500.

“On behalf of the Malcolm’s Way team we would like to say a big thank you to everyone who came along and donated!

‘‘We’ll be depositing the money in the charity’s account as soon as possible.”
