Fundraising for the local charity Finlay’s Fund is going strong with many local events taking place to support Finlay.

On Saturday October 6, The Belvedere Hotel was host to an evening of entertainment from local musicians and entertainers Ray Milne and Dave Ramsay, they were supported by young violinist Ross Hull.

The evening was well attended and £404 was raised through donation buckets and the inclusion of the entertainers’ usual fee.

The organisers would like to thank everyone who supported and donated on the night, Ray, Dave and Ross for their time and effort and the Belvedere for playing host.

On Sunday October 28 a table top sale has been organised in the Green Hut from 10am - 2pm in support of Finlay.

Space can be hired at £10 to sell new/nearly new item, there will also be homebakes. This may be a nice way for people to pick up a bargain and start thinking about Christmas. If anyone is interested in hiring a space contact Finlay’s Fund at

Finlay’s mum, Gail Sangster would like to thank everyone for their continued support.

She said: “Finlay is in the middle of a week of therapy from Movement Physiotherapy. This costs £100 a day and is possible thanks to everyone who supports us. I am chuffed to bits with his stamina and determination this week and we have been given lots of tips to take into our daily routine.”

Gail Sangster and her husband Bruce set up Finlay’s Fund to help to pay for vital equipment and treatments for their son Finlay who has cerebral palsy.
