Last week we brought you the journey of Stonehaven’s Christmas tree which arrived this Tuesday.

Members of the Stonehaven and District Community Council have been busy decorating the tree to get ready for the big switch on Saturday. The tree went up on Tuesday with transport done by local man Mark Spence owner of MGS Logistics LTD. This year a new tree stand was made and fitted by another local man Stuart Hutchison owner of HPS. The stand has been put in place to secure the tree which will be lit up on Saturday.

Taking place in the Market Square, festivities will begin nice and early at 10am with entertainement throughout the day. Bon Accord Silver Band will kick things off but there will be carol singing, face painting and mulled wine during the day.

The Christmas Parade from the Leisure Centre to the Market Square in Stonehaven will start around 4pm.
