Kincardine and Mearns pay their tribute to the Bard

Following on from our Burns reports from last week, we spotlight more community groups and schools hosted a traditional supper.

The Stonehaven Fatherland Burns Club held their event this past week and so did Dunnottar Primary School, Mill O’Forest Primary and the Stonehaven branch of the Royal British Legion 

Saturday night’s Burns Supper at Stonehaven’s Royal British Legion took place with Dave Ramsey giving the opening address. The haggis was carried by Yvonne Mark piped by Iain McFadyen, who also addressed 
the ‘beast.’

The haggis was piped by Cameron Ritchie and held by Max while Harrison and Fraser addressed it.

The pupils and staff at Mill O’ Forest held an entertaining Burns Assembly on Wednesday, January 21. Pupils and staff from the school took part in singing and playing traditional Scottish songs. They were entertained by a variety of choreographed Highland dancers, drama performances, Scottish jokes 
and poetry.

The winners of the traditional Burns poetry performed their poems and were presented with their certificates by Mr Douglas Samways from Stonehaven Burns Club.
