Luthermuir Gala Week kicks off on Wednesday 8th June with a Silent Auction and Coffee Evening. The Hall opens at 6.30pm for viewing and then bidding is open from 7.00pm till 8.30pm.
Items for sale have been donated by many local people and businesses and include a football signed by the Aberdeen squad, vouchers for a number of local shops and restaurants, pictures, jewellery and lots more.
On Friday 10th June there is a games night starting at 7.00pm, with dominoes in the small hall and a chance to try out bowling in the main hall. Sandwiches, a cup of tea and an entry to the lucky ticket draw are included in the admission price.
Children’s Discos will be held on Saturday 11th June, with pre-school (& parents) from 2.00pm-3.30pm, then primary age from 4.00pm-6.00pm. Juice and crisps are included in the admission cost.
Gala Day itself will be held from 1.30pm on Sunday 12th June when the opening event will be the “Best Dressed” bike competition, followed by entertainment from local dancers. The annual Primary Schools Football Competition goes on throughout the afternoon, and re-instated this year is the Tug-of-War competition (teams of 6 can register by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org).
Other attractions include Grey Wolf Drums, Audrey Arthur (tarot cards), wellie wanging, skittles, bouncy castle, beer tent, BBQ and of course the ever popular homebaking served with tea & coffee in the small hall.
The final draw of the 100 Club will name the winners of the £100 and £50 prizes, but if you didn’t manage to get a ticket for that, there’s another chance to win £100 and lots more in the Gala Raffle.
The committee would like to thank the manager, staff and customers of the Co-op in Laurencekirk for the opportunity to sell raffle tickets in the shop entrance recently – a great boost to ticket sales!
