Mearns Camera Club’s ‘Seascape competition was judged last Monday night at their weekly meeting in Stonehaven Community Centre.
Judge Neil Gove, from Balmedie, said he enjoyed looking at the work and hoped his comments would be of use and help members to learn and improve with their photographic efforts.
He said he was looking for good composition, content, technique and visual appeal and thought the standard of the club’s entries was excellent.
The results are as follows :-
Black and White Print - 1 ‘Gorey Harbour’ by Neil Weston 20 points, 2 ‘Windy Outpost’ by Brian Doyle 19 points, 3 (equal) Guiding Light’ by Linda Johnstone & ‘Lizard Point’ by Russell Adams 18 points.
Coloured Print - 1 ‘Corbiere Panoroma’ by Mark Woodfin 20 points, 2 ‘Singing Sands’ by Brian Doyle 19 points, 3 ‘Into the Blue Beyond’ by Mike Reid & ‘Dawn At St Cyrus’ by John McSevney 18 points.
Projected Digital Image - 1 Garrion Point’ by Neil Weston 20 points, 2 ‘The Slains’ by Neil Weston 19 points, 3 ‘Fair Sailing’ by Mark Woodfin & Cloudy Rum’ by Brian Doyle 18 points
The pictures from the Treasure Hunt were judged on Monday, December 9, by club member Mike Ogden.
The winning team with 64 points was team A consisting of Pat Copner, Malcolm Stephen and Paul Nesvadba.
