Mearns Camera Club’s second Open Competition of the 2014-15 session was judged at their meeting in Stonehaven Community Centre.

Judge Sandy Porter, who had judged Mearns club competitions many times before, said at the weekly meeting that he was impressed by the high standard of entries and thought the club was going from strength to strength.

He explained his marking system and outlined what he thought made images ‘contenders.’ His comments on the images were insightful and mainly supportive.

During his judging, Sandy offered helpful advice on taking and presenting images. Results on the night were :-
