Stonehaven man Michael Hopkins, 32, has completed the Glasgow Kiltwalk for national children’s charities.
After Lead Dipping on New Years Day and completing the Inverness Half Marathon in March, his Lion’s Club buddies and close friends encouraged him to take part in the Kiltwalk, which took place last Sunday (April 12).
Michael completed the 26 mile route from Hampden Park to Balloch in six hours straight. The last two years have seen him complete walks in Aberdeen and Dundee as part of the Stoney Stallions team, however he already has his sights on completing walks in Speyside, Perth and Edinburgh over next two years.
He will continue his support of local and national charities with Stonehaven and District Lions Club and Clic Sargent by taking part in the Tough Mudder in June with a new team called Northern United with family members and friends. Michael also hopes to be accepted to take part in the Great North Run for Clic Sargent. This will be Michael’s fourth half marathon, but second for Clic Sargent, and he hopes to raise more than £500.
