A new group being set up in Stonehaven for people interested in using baby carriers and cloth nappies held its first meeting this week.
The Mearns Sling and Cloth Nappy Meet, which will be held on the first Wednesday of the month, from 11am-1pm at Stonehaven Community Centre, started yesterday.
Experience of baby carrying or cloth nappies is not required, just an interest in finding out about either cloth or carrying.
The group will be informal and parents, guardians and children of all ages are welcome to pop along to meet new people, enjoy a cuppa and a chat.
There will be a £1 donation per family to help cover costs.
Organiser Nicole Hepburn said: “There is an increasing awareness of the benefits of carrying babies in slings and carriers and I hope this group will provide information and help give people the confidence to give it a try.
‘‘ It is much the same with cloth nappies, lots of people are interested, but they want to speak to people who have experience using cloth.
‘‘Again, I hope this group will give parents that opportunity.
‘‘It is intended that this group will work in conjunction with Mearns Sling Library which is in the process of being set up.
‘‘ The library will give people the chance to try various carriers before they buy.
