Aberdeenshire Council is inviting nominations across a range of categories as part of an event to celebrate the achievements, hard work and successes of our children, communities and staff.
Led by the Education, Learning and Leisure (EL&L) service, Inspiring Aberdeenshire will see a civic reception hosted in Aboyne on Friday, June 7, where a number of awards will be presented to people from across the area.
There are 11 categories, including ‘Best of’ awards for all of the areas in Aberdeenshire, including Kincardine and Mearns. These will be presented to a child, young person or employee, living or working in the area and making an outstanding contribution to education, learning or leisure.
The other categories consist of the Extra Mile Award for a Staff Member, Aberdeenshire’s STAR Award, Outstanding Leader of the Year Award, Aberdeenshire is a Creative Place Art Competition and the Provost’s Award.
Chair of Aberdeenshire Council’s Education, Learning and Leisure Committee, Councillor Isobel Davidson, said: “It is important that we always take the time to acknowledge the efforts and achievements of people across Aberdeenshire, whether they are a pupil at one of our schools, part of a community group or member of staff.
“There are so many great things going on across education, learning and leisure and this is an opportunity to share and celebrate these examples.”
Nomination forms, which must be returned by Thursday, April 25, are available on the council website via the following link http://bit.ly/inspiringaberdeenshire2013
