One of the UK’s most in-demand fiddle players will be taking to the stage at Fettercairn Hall this Saturday, along with friends.

The concert beinghosted by local charity Angus Arts will welcome Patsy Reid, and some workshop sessions have also been lined up.

Angus Arts adminstrator, Sue Waddicor, said: “We hosted a fantastic concert last year when Patsy played as part of VAMM, however she’s been touring this year as ‘Patsy Reid & Friends’ following the release of her highly acclaimed solo album ‘The Brightest Path.’

‘‘When she asked us if she could make a return visit to Angus Arts we were absolutely thrilled.

“She’s an incredibly talented musician with an extremely busy schedule, including playing on stage with Dougie MacLean at the Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony, so it’s great that we have the opportunity to catch her in a local venue. She’ll be joined on stage by Matheu Watson (guitar and mandolin), Alistair Iain Paterson (piano and harmonium) and Signy Jakobsdottir (percussion).

“Even more exciting is that Patsy is offering two workshop sessions at the hall in the afternoon.

‘‘This is a wonderful opportunity for people of all ages to make music with these marvelous musicians.

‘‘The first at 2.45pm caters for string players at an intermediate and advanced level.

‘‘The 4pm workshop will welcome people of all levels of experience with any instrument, with all four musicians available to host this hour-long session.

‘‘We really need people to book in advance so we have an idea of numbers and it would be useful if you could give us an idea of your level of experience.”

Doors open at 7pm and tickets cost £10 / £5 (child/student).

The intermediate/advanced fiddle workshop is from 2.45 – 3.45pm with the all-levels/any-instrument workshop running from 4 to 5pm, both at Fettercairn Hall.

Workshop tickets cost £5 for one and £8 for both.
