Plans for a proposed supermarket and HQ development at the new Mains of Ury will go on show in Stonehaven tomorrow (Friday).

The Sluie Estate Trust is behind the proposal which, it is claimed, could lead to 1200 jobs being created.

The development would be to the north of Stonehaven, surrounding the new junction of the AWPr, fastlink and the A90.

A spokesperson for the developers said: “ The southern junction of the AWPR could be the catalyst to transform Stonehaven into the gateway to the riches of Aberdeenshire.

“Friday’s exhibition in the town hall invites everyone to consider a proposal for 1200 jobs, most of which will be related to a global HQ with a research and development division, to be established in an iconic building at the junction of the A90 and the AWPR.

“In addition, some redundant farm buildings have been identified as a site for the long-awaited supermarket, with an adjacent 60-bed hotel, restaurant and petrol filling station.”

The plans will be on show from 11.30am-6.30pm.
