The Scottish Labour team for the local government elections in Kincardine and Mearns has been announced.
Patrick Coffield has been warmly welcomed as the candidate for Mearns ward.
Patrick says, “Our priorities are to maintain high quality services from Aberdeenshire Council and to make sure that those who need our help most are provided with the best possible education and social care.”
“We must ensure that young families and anyone on a modest income can find a decent affordable place to stay and that our local communities are connected with good public transport routes,“ continued Patrick. “A big challenge ahead is to support a diverse local economy. “
Raymond Christie is standing for re-election to the Stonehaven and Lower Deeside ward.
Raymond adds “I know that bus companies have failed our local community by not providing the services which passengers require. We will campaign for the effective regulation of bus services. We will ensure that the needs of our ageing population are priorities.”
Alison Evison, the Leader of Aberdeenshire Labour Group, is standing for re-election in North Kincardine.
“Over the last five years, we have focused on delivering services to our local communities, “ said Alison. “We have achieved much with just two councillors. Our priorities remain our communities, the people who live or work within them, and the staff who deliver essential public services.”
