Police Scotland have named the man who died following a crash on A950 on Saturday as 23 year old Portlethen resident Lee McClure.
The family of the ‘well loved’ keen footballer have said they are devastated.
Lee’s family have released the following statement;“Lee was well loved by family and friends and we are devastated that he has been taken from us.
“Lee moved from Ayr to Portlethen for work and worked in Aberdeen as a hydraulic engineer. He was a keen and skilled footballer and enjoyed playing very much.
“We will miss him dearly.”
A police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police Scotland can confirm that the man who died following a one vehicle road traffic collision on the A950 south of New Pitsligo, Aberdeenshire on Saturday 10 January was Lee McClure. Lee was 23 years old and lived in the Portlethen area of Aberdeenshire.
“Investigations into the collision are continuing and police ask that anyone with information or who may have seen Lee’s vehicle, a silver Vauxhall Astra, prior to the collision contacts them.”
