A SECOND-YEAR pupil from Mackie Academy has been named as the winner of a poster competition organised by Stagecoach Bluebird.
The transport provider recently ran a competition with local schools to design a poster with the theme “Bus Versus Car” to promote the environmental benefits of travelling by public transport.
Ailidh Morrison (13), was picked as the winner in the secondary school category, and her poster will feature on the rear of several Stagecoach Bluebird buses.
Ailiadh was also presented with an XBOX 360 games console, along with all the new Kinect and 3 games.
Children from all over the North East put time and effort into designing their entries. The entries received were of an extremely high standard and senior staff at Stagecoach Bluebird had the difficult task of selecting the finalists.
Sarah Anderson, Marketing Manager, Stagecoach Bluebird commented: “We received a lot of excellent entries from kids in the local area and it has been really difficult to pick a winner! We saw some very creative designs but I think Ailidh’s poster really stood out. I hope that she will enjoy seeing her design on buses across the area.”
The new design was officially launched by Ailidh at Mackie Academy on May 25.
