Fiona Leslie raised over £4000 recently for the charity, Gastrocan.
Gastrocan was founded by Dr Russell Petty, consultant oncologist, and is raising funds to support research into oesophageal and gastric cancers in the Grampian area.
Fiona Leslie said: “Having lost my husband to duodenal cancer last year, I held a race night to raise funds for the charity and was delighted to be able to present a cheque for £4200 to Dr Petty last Friday.
“Obviously, given the circumstances, I am extremely keen to raise awareness of Gastrocan and the current work which they are doing.
‘‘There are some very interesting things happening and I think it would be good for people in the North-east to know about this.’’
