Reader day at Mearns Community Library

Mearns Library are holding a Readers Day at the end of June where they will be joined by three authors in Laurencekirk.

Lisa Ballantyne, Ajay close and Craig Robertson will all be at the June 27 between 1pm to 4.30pm.

A flyer for the event tells us more information: “Join us in Mearns Community Library for afternoon tea, cakes and authors and share your love of reading with like-minded others.

“Supported by Scottish Book Trust, we are delighted to welcome three Scottish authors who will talk to you about their work.

“The afternoon will be very informal with tea and ‘fine pieces’ on offer and during three 40 minute sessions, you will have the opportunity to meet all our authors and mindle with other readers.

“Take part in our quiz, buy books by the authors. Bring along a book you have read that you think others would enjoy and add it to the BookSwap table.”

Lisa Ballantyne’s new novel Redemption road will be published in July after her debut novel The Guilty One was translated to over 25 languages and list for two major literary awards.

Ajay Close and Craig Robertson will both have new work published in September, Cupid’s Itch and In Place of Death respectively.
