Red Cross receives £500 from family
Laurencekirk Red Cross has received nearly £600 in donations from the friends of family of Kate Garrow who sadly passed away recently.
Her family wishes were that anyone who wanted to give a donation could do so for the Red Cross in Laurencekirk.
Friends of Kate Garrow were shocked and saddened to hear of her recent sudden death in Laurencekirk.
Kate was a founding member of Laurencekirk WRI where, at a meeting of the rural, she heard a talk on the work of the Red Cross, and after she retired as Warden of the Mearns Court Sheltered Housing, she became a Volunteer in the Laurencekirk Red Cross Shop which had been opened and run by WRI members in 1999.
Husband Jimmy is pictured handing over £574 to the local Shop Manager Sheena Kelly, also in the picture on Jimmy’s left is his daughter Doreen and Granddaughter Jodi.
On Sheena’s right are Volunteer Adeline McBain, Fiona Milton and sitting is new recruit Christina Herd.
The Mearns Leader and Kincardineshire Observer wish to pass on our most sincere condolences to the family at the time.
