RESIDENTS at Hanover court, Stonehaven will be happy waiting in all weather for a lift now that they have their very own bus shelter.
Residents of the sheltered housing complex have been busy fundraising for the last 18 months to raise funds for the shelter which gives them a place to shelter from the weather while they wait for taxis and the various buses which pick-up from Hanover Court.
The shelter was the idea of resident Doris Thomas who was fed up of having no where to wait for a lift, she cut the ribbon and officially opened the shelter this week.
The tenants association carried out the fundraising and received help from a number of local businesses.
Donations were received from; the Co-operative Stonehaven, The Stonehaven Lions Club, Hanover Charitable trust, Hanover Tenants Lottery (Bonus Ball), Hunting Energy Services (UK) Ltd, Asco lifestyle, ASDA Portlethen and Total Oil Aberdeen.
The residents of Hanover Court would like to thank everyone who helped them in getting their new shelter. They say that without the support it would not have been possible.
