Stonehaven and District Community Council SDCC held their monthly meeting on Tuesday night at the Invercarron Resource Centre.
The busy agenda saw the community councillors discuss a wide range of subjects including Dunnottar Primary and Stonehaven Court building
SDCC heard from STP member David Fleming that there was still time to get your ideas to them regarding Stonehaven’s empty Court building.
STP launched its second round of consultation over Stonehaven’s iconic Court House building in Dunnottar Avenue last month
The nine-page document sets out a range of possibilities for the use of the building, and suggests some proposals to progress.
Discussed in the document is the possibility of expanding the Dunnottar Primary School into the empty building. The school recently received the worst rating achievable regarding suitability to deliver education.
Vice Chair Phil Mills Bishop said: “The head teacher isn’t keen on moving into the court building and at a recent meeting with the main players regarding Dunnottar we thought a new build should take over Dunnottar.”
Chairman Knud Christensen added: “ We would like to make it clear we are talking about the building of Dunnottar Primary and not the teaching. There is a wonderful atmosphere at Dunnottar primary.”
The next SDCC meeting will be held at the Invercarron Resource Centre on March 10.
