Aberdeenshire is expecting storm force gales tonight as Storm Henry hits with gusts possibly reaching up to 80 or 90mph.

The amber alert warning issued by the Met Office added that some very large waves are expected due to the storm which may lead to localised flooding of coastal roads and causeways.

The public are asked to “be prepared for some potentially severe weather, causing transport disruption and difficult driving, some structural damage, dangerous coastal conditions and disruption to power supplies”.
