An information and discussion evening aimed at challenging both the culture of everyday sexism and concerns about sexual violence in our communities, will be held on Thursday 19 June from 18.30 - 21.00 at Stonehaven Community Centre.
The event has been co-ordinated by Sheila Newcombe, the Sexual Violence Prevention Worker at RAS (Rape Abuse Support) Aberdeen and is being hosted by Councillor Alison Evison.
Speakers at the event include local young people and representatives from various support organisations, Police Scotland and Aberdeenshire Council.
“We believe that it is really important that people can feel safe in our communities, “ commented Alison Evison. “But we also want people to know that there are organisations available to offer help, advice and support when it is needed. This event is aiming to help these organisations build a local presence in our area.”
Anybody interested in this topic or wishing to find out more is welcome to attend. The event is free of charge.
