Stonehaven Town Partnership had a busy year in 2014, with a number of new projects starting.
The most visible one was the land train, which is now in storage at Kirkton Motors for the winter, and we would like to thank Kevin Braidwood for allowing us to use his facilities. The land train will be back on the road in April and we need drivers to enable this year to be even more successful than last year.
If anyone is interested in driving the train, on a part-time basis, and has a PSV licence, please let us know, details are below.
STP will be publishing a ‘Planning for Real’ report shortly, which is the result of three Planning for Real public consultation events, which took place in 2012, asking residents to look at different areas of the town and record what suggestions they had.
We would like to thank the individuals who took the time to make suggestions at these meetings, which have resulted in some changes taking place.
STP will soon be disbursing funds from our only source of income, which is rent from the Queen Elizabeth Caravan Park. We would ask any groups, who might require funding, to read our disbursement policy, which can be found on our web site. This explains how you can apply for funding.
We are working with Aberdeenshire Council, Stonehaven and District Community Council, Stonehaven Business Association and the Horizon Group, to make improvements to the town centre and more information will follow on this project.
n Further information can be found on our website www.stpweb.org.
