The Tadpole Toddlers group in Gourdon would like to say a massive thank-you to Alba Power and everyone whose generous donations have allowed the group to become such a success.
Alba Power donated £350 to the Tadpole Toddlers. The group, which meets in Gourdon village hall, were “delighted” by the generous donation. Chair of the group, Emma Wyatt, explained what the money will go towards.
She said: “We will be able to buy new toys, dressing-up stuff, soft play area equipment and things like that.
“The money has really guaranteed the running of the group for the next few years and means that we are going to be able to buy some equipment which otherwise we couldn’t have afforded.”
The group also wanted to thank others in the community who have helped to make the group. The Harbour Bar’s generous donations cover the cost of the insurance required for the group. They have also received donations from Gourdon Community Council, Gourline fish-shop and the Gourdon shop.
The toddlers group was set up in May 2010 by the chair Emma Wyatt and the treasurer Sam Davidson.
After almost two years, the Tadpole Toddlers group has become an integral part of the Gourdon community and Emma has praised the community for the “incredible support” the group has received.
The friendly group meets in the village hall on a Friday morning and there is no joining fee. The group offers support to new mums and has a number of talks on to provide information. At the end of March a talk of healthy eating for fussy toddlers is taking place.
The group runs from 10-12 every Friday and there is no membership fee. The cost is £1.50 or £2.00 if you bring two children who will be eating snacks. For more information contact Emma on 01561 361810.
