Tolbooth Museum gets a Head!

Found in the grounds of Fetteresso Castle, a stone head was given by an anonymous donor to the Tolbooth Museum through the good offices of the Stonehaven Rotary Club.

The head has been checked by Treasure Trove Scotland but thought to be of no significant value.

It is possibly 15th century but again nobody has been able to give much more information. One thought is that it could be the work of a stone mason during his lunch break!

Anyone wanting to take a closer look can do so by visiting the Tolbooth Museum which is open during the winter on Saturdays and Sundays from 12.30 till 3.30pm.
