Stonehaven singer and songwriter, Colin Clyne, celebrated the end of 2014 on a high, as he was a finalist in the UK songwriting contest.
Colin was awarded the finalist status for his song ‘Top of the Mountain’ in the adult contemporary category of the awards.
Colin said: “It’s an honour to have one of my songs make the finals, the judges are world renowned in the music industry, so you’d assume they know a good song when they hear it.
‘‘Naturally, it’s just their opinion but it’s nice all the same and perhaps it will open up some more doors.’’
The song was praised by Grammy award winning producer Alan Sanderson, who was an engineer on the song. He called it ‘a testament to great songwriting.”
The popular musician is gearing up for a huge 2015, with events including playing in Stonehaven in February with Big Country.
He added: “It’s always great to play in your home town, particularly when you get to play the Stonehaven town hall as it’s such a great venue.
‘‘We look forward to opening for Big Country in front of a packed hall and letting everyone see what the band (Colin Clyne & The Carrons) are all about.”
The event will take place on February 21. Tickets are on sale at Ma Simpson’s or at www.masimpsons.com.
