Bus company, Stagecoach, have now changed the frequency of a popular public transport route to and from Stonehaven.

Revisions to the Coastrider X7 timetable, which commenced this week (April 8), have provided an improved frequency for customers travelling on Sundays.

The X7 previously operated every two hours on Sundays, but owing to increased demand has started operating hourly as from this week.

The coach service, which operates between Dundee and Aberdeen, serving Arbroath, Montrose and Stonehaven, is a vital coach link along the coast, providing direct journeys as it is limited stop.

Andrew Jarvis, managing director, Stagecoach East Scotland ,said: “The X7 route has steadily grown in popularity since its launch in September 2011 and we are pleased to increase the frequency on Sundays.

“We’re always monitoring the performance of our routes and it’s through high customer use and feedback we’ve received from our passengers that the extra journeys have been implemented this week.

“We’ll continue to review the service, to ensure we’re providing the best public transport option possible.”

The Coastrider X7 route now runs hourly every day of the week, with the latest changes also improving the reliability of certain peak time journeys.
