Stagecoach North Scotland is extending its trial offer of free travel for children until the end of the school summer holidays (August 14).
The offer was launched as a trial from July 4 and due to the success will be extended until Sunday, August 14. The campaign aims to encourage local people to make the switch from the car and consider leaving the car at home for some journeys in the future.
Children aged 15 years old and younger will be able to travel for free across the whole Stagecoach North Scotland network when travelling with an adult using a dayrider or megarider ticket. After August 14 the offer will be available every Saturday and Sunday all year round.
Steve Walker, managing director for Stagecoach North Scotland said: “It is great to see how popular this offer has been over the trial period at the beginning of July.
“We have had lots of positive feedback from families using our services that it was an easy decision for us to extend this throughout the whole summer holidays and at weekends thereafter.
“We think it is really important for kids to learn how to use the bus and as it is also the beginning of the summer holidays we hope that families will use the offer to make the most of their school holidays for less.”
Stagecoach plans to reintroduce the offer daily throughout the October school holidays.
