Video: Watch as motorbike does wheelie past a police car on busy Aberdeen road
This is the shocking moment a reckless motorcyclist with a passenger pulled a WHEELIE past a marked police car on a busy Aberdeen road.
A passing motorist recorded the daring stunt in the South College Street area of the city with a dash cam on August 6.
But the officers in the car chose not to go after the biker as they feared it would have “created a further risk to the public”.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “Officers were made aware of a motorcycle carrying out a ‘wheelie’ manoeuvre in the South College Street area of Aberdeen during the afternoon of August 6.
“It would have created further risk to the public to pursue the vehicle.
“Further inquiries have been carried out and work is ongoing to target the anti-social use of motorcycles in Aberdeen as part of Operation Trinity.
“Between April 6 and July 29, 81 motorcycles were seized with 62 people being charged for associated offences, without having to engage in pursuits.
“The period has also seen 42 stolen motorcycles returned to their owners.
“We note that these successes have been as a result of the positive support from our local communities and we ask that people continue to report the dangerous, inconsiderate and antisocial use of motorbikes across the city.”
