Volunteers wanted

The Open Air in the Square committee has been working to make this year’s Open Air in the Square bigger and better than ever. A great event vital to the success of Stonehaven’s Hogmanay celebrations, the committee need volunteers to help keep this fantastic celebration going.

With thousands of people gathering in Stonehaven to celebrate Hogmanay it is essential that an event catering for such a varied crowd and large capacity should continue to go ahead and be a success.

“Open Air in the Square needs to go ahead to house the ever increasing numbers of people making their way to the town for the Fireballs in the High Street where there is a limited capacity and simply not enough room for everyone,” said Alison Lynch, Open Air in the Square Chair.

With a live streaming of all the action from the Fireballs beamed onto large screens within the Market Square, Open Air in the Square acts as an alternative venue to see the Fireballs.

“Hogmanay in Stonehaven always has a fantastic, warm atmosphere and the Committee ensure that those who volunteer on the night are able to enjoy the festivities too.”

With a variety of new attractions, entertainment and live music planned throughout the evening as well as the now classic live streaming of the fireballs and spectacular fireworks display, this year’s new look Open Air in the Square is set to be the best yet.

Open Air in the Square need volunteers of all ages, skills and experiences to keep this vital event running! Any help, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated.
