Meet the Committee Member: Mark Peters

Service on Sunday October 18, 3pm Castle Lodge Care Home, Kirkburn, Inverbervie. All are welcome to join us.

Friday October 16, Starting at 2.30pm at Castle Lodge, Kirkburn,

Please join this small group who visit the Residents of Castle Lodge every four weeks. We bring back many happy memories by singing well known secular and sacred songs.

Afterwards we have a nice cuppa and some time to have a chat with the residents which is appreciated and of benefit to all concerned.

Castle Lodge would like to say a huge thank you to David Beatie, the Fire chief master of Inverbervie Fire brigade and to the fire team of Inverbervie and the fire brigade team of Laurencekirk for agreeing to carry out an evacuation exercise on September 29. The exercise was amazing and all staff have learned valuable lessons from observing the fire brigade going through their search techniques. Big thank you.

Also, Castle Lodge would like to say a huge thanks to the headmistress of Gourdon primary school for the donation of lovely cakes from their Macmillan coffee morning the residents appreciated these cakes very much.

‘Meet the Committee’

Bervie is run off the backs of Committees, so we would like to introduce you to our Committees and their members.

Mark Peters is an active committee member of the Bervie Caley Youth Football Club and currently Club Secretary for Inverbervie Soccer Sevens which is affiliated to Bervie Caley. Mark is also one of the coaches for Inverbervie Soccer Sevens and for the Bervie Caley Youth 2006 team.

Born and brought up in Stonehaven, Mark moved to Inverbervie in 2011. He has been married for almost 12 years to Clare with whom he has four children; Meaghan, Emilie, James and Adam. Mark is a Civil Engineer and works at Fairhurst Civil & Structural Engineers in Aberdeen as Principal Engineer in the traffic and transport division.

Much of Mark’s spare time is spent involved in football with coaching, pitch preparation and matches over the weekend and training during the week. Mark is always willing to help out with local events such as the Bervie Gala and the Bervie Fireworks display.

What Mark likes best about Inverbervie is the community spirit that is always on show and the opportunities available for the kids as they are growing up. Mark’s favorite place is the top of the footpath to Benholm by Hallgreen Farm where there is a fantastic view looking north across the Royal Burgh.
