Water Trade Café
Wednesday, February 18, 10-11.30am Water Trade Café, delicious hot pancakes, home baking and fresh coffee and tea and the opportunity to meet up for some fine company and chat.
Due to your continued support of our monthly coffee mornings, the WaterAid team managed to raise over £1000 in 2014.
This money has been used to bring fresh water where it is desperately needed.

Bervie Youth Project have been lucky enough to secure sports sponsorship for March from Stonehaven and District Lions Club, Lions Club Member Michael Hopkins presented Bervie Youth Project’s Vice-Chairperson, Elaine Sclater, with a cheque for £100.
Elaine said: “This not only secures the sports events for March but creates much-needed ties with a fantastic organisation like the Lions Club.”
“We are very grateful to Michael for putting us forward for support from The Lions Club, and we would love to work with them in the future with our Adventure days and their fund-raising events”

Aberdeen Opera Company are coming to Bervie with their Dolly Mixture show, Tickets are available at Bervie Paper Shop £8 per ticket and in association with Bervie Skate Park. Debbie Ryan, resident artist for Brighter Bervie, has returned this week to run craft workshops with lots of local groups and organisations.

Debbie has been recruited to create a sculpture for our beach front amenity area with the input from our community groups!

Hanover Court and Craigview Inverbervie
On Friday, January 26, residents enjoyed yet another successful Burns Supper, Piper Evan piped in the haggis, which was addressed by Basil Smith. Evan gave the residents a few tunes on his pipes, such as, ‘Fooled by our Fiddler Devon’ and ‘She’s sum player’. Peg Hall recited some of her favourite poems which went down well.
It finished off with a “blether, a cuppy and a shortie biscuit”. Happy birthday was sung to Dinah Begg and then Ally Bally proposed thanks.
Six-week course covering the basics, learning about the camera, composition and practical exercises. Classes will be limited to six spaces.

The community gift hamper giveaways have continued this week, with a lovely hamper provided by The Salutation Arms, Bervie Cleaners, Montrose Music Festival team with Donnie Munro and Colin Clyne tickets, for Saturday night’s local gig, Beauty Kaer and the Cosie Bozie. Filled with vouchers, sweets and treats.
Winners Jim and Sandie Gillbanks of Inverbervie said: “Thank you so much to everyone who nominated us, we couldn’t have been more delighted when we heard earlier this evening.”
This wonderful community-spirited couple do so much to help our community, being involved with Brighter Bervie and Knit and Natter, always supporting our causes with raffles and home bakes and being a helpful, friendly couple who cannot do enough for friends and acquaintances.
I’m delighted these pensioners are receiving the recognition from our community, they so richly deserve.
Both Jim and Sandie were nominated separately, and as a couple, and received the most votes from you, the Bervie Residents! Congratulations and thank you for your efforts.
Sandie added: “Our group, Knit and Natter, meets every Thursday in the Salutation Hotel, Inverbervie, from 8pm to 10 pm. New friends are always welcome.”
