Whistle My Lad heads to the town hall

A local film which was a hit at the Cannes Film Festival will be shown next Friday, November 14, at Stonehaven Town Hall.

Whistle My Lad stars Stoney’s own Andrew Cameron and starts at 7.30pm.

The period drama, set in 1911, was shot in April 2013 in locations in Royal Deeside and the Banffshire Coast.

The short film tells the story of young love and defiance, as Agnes West, the daughter of a successful fisherman, falls in love with Fraser, the son of a rival skipper.

Andrew spoke to the Mearns Leader back in May and told us: “The support for the film has been overwhelming.

‘‘I would just like to say thank you to everyone who has supported this.”

Tickets are £2.50 and are available from Jenni Mac’s, The Rose Bowl or on the Town Hall’s Facebook page and wesbite www.stonehaventownhall.org.uk
