Water Aid Cafe

Wednesday November 18 , 10am-11.30am Water Aid Café, Delicious Hot Pancakes, home baking and fresh coffee and tea and the opportunity to meet up for some fine company and chat.

Due to your continued support of our Monthly Coffee Mornings from the Water Aid team managed to raise over £1000 in 2014.

This money has been used to bring fresh water where it is desperately needed.

“Woman of the Way”

Thursday November 12, 7.45pm-9.45pm. Women of the Way is a group open to ladies of the parish. It meets fortnightly to learn more about God and discuss how members can apply their faith in their daily lives and to support one another. As well as

studying the Bible, and a time of prayer, the group always have lots of fun at meetings. They have recently welcomed a number of new members, and are always delighted to have new people along. For further information about the group please contact Caroline Jones (Tel: 361178)

Castle Lodge

Service on Sunday November 15, 3pm Castle Lodge Care Home, Kirkburn, Inverbervie. All are welcome to join us.


Friday November 13 Starting at 2.30pm at Castle Lodge, Kirkburn. Please join this small group who visit the Residents of Castle Lodge every 4 weeks. We bring back many Happy Memories by singing well known secular and sacred songs.

Afterwards we have a nice cuppa and some time to have a chat with the residents which is appreciated and of benefit to all concerned.

Quiz Nights

Kinneff Village Hall on Friday November 13, 7pm. Only £5 per person which includes Sausage rolls and refreshments. Join us for our Annual Quiz Night with Cash prizes.

Patients over age 65 or patients under 65 with Chronic disease are entitled to a Flu Vaccine. Please contact Inverbervie Medical Centre to make an appointment. If you do not wish a Vaccine please also contact the Health Centre to let them know.

Bervie Food Bank

Its that time of year when the Local Food Bank is needed more and the generous public give more, We have gratefully received a good supply of Advent Calendars and Selection Boxes already and are still accepting them at The Bervie Sports Centre, Pictured here with Aberdeenshire Council staff Leslie and Donna (Kirkburn, Inverbervie ) and at The Burgh Hall with Clare and Alison of Inverbervie Pre-School, Farquhar Street, Inverbervie.

Scotmid, The Church Centre and The Bervie Paper Shop, all situated on King Street, Inverbervie are also still accepting food donations.

Bervie Social Club has an average weekly attendance of 100 members meet every Saturday for some Bingo Fun, at The Burgh Hall, Farquhar Street. Next meeting is Saturday November 14, Membership forms are available from Head Caller Alan Reid and his dedicated team of helpers.

Eyes down at 7.30pm Raffle and Refreshments are available.

Fundraiser gets the Big Snip

Local Shop lady Sue Brown of Scotmid, Inverbervie Branch treated shoppers on Thursday November 5, to an unusual sight as she had her head shaved in the Aisles for Alzheimer Scotland.

Sue, Assisted by Sharlene from Tidy Tangles raised over £800 for her Chosen Charity. When asked by a customer If it was the bravest thing she has ever done, Sue casually said “no, maybe just the daftest”

In good humour and pleased with her efforts and fundraising Sue happily went back to work, unsure what all the fuss was about.

‘5’ Youth Group

Friday November 13, 7,30pm-9.30pm weekly during Term Time

This Group meets at the Livingrooms, Church St with members from P7 and S1-S6.

On Friday November 6, The residents had a lovely Illustrated talk by John Holmes, a retired Doctor from Aberdeen, he spoke about his travels across the Antarctic. It was very interesting to learn so much especially all the Penguin talk (Not the Biscuits) We finished off with a Cuppa and a Shortie.
