Bervie Youth hit four goals past East End

Bervie took on East End in their first home match of the season at the Haughs Inverbervie.

The game flowed to and fro with chances on both sides. East End came close when Bervie keeper Walker made a superb save from East End no15.

Berive went in front when Stuart Smith set up his brother, Marc Smith, who ran through the East End defence and lifted the ball over the keeper to open up the scoring.

Ten minutes later East End made it 1-1 when slack defending allowed their forward to score. Bervie pushed forward with a Stuart Smith shot striking the cross bar and a Laurinson shot coming close.

Bervie lost the services of Callum Morrison who injured himself just before half time and was replaced by Tom Montgomerie.

Bervie made a second substitution at half time when the injured Robbie Wallis was replaced by Adam Smith.

Adam was causing havoc down the right flank and from a corner Bervie went ahead when Marc Smith’s corner was headed home by captain, Kyle McCombie.

Kiefer Brown dropped back to sweeper with Tom Montgomerie playing at center back.

Left sided defender Michele Cabrelli was controlling everything at the back. Keeper Walker made another couple of good saves and Matthew Cook and Chris Dandie were winning most balls in mid-field.

From one of the moves Mathew Cook set up Adam Smith who won a corner. Marc Smith drilled the corner in for Stuart Smith to knock home for number three.

Bervie piled on the pressure with some good deliveries from both flanks.

Bervie brought on Craig Mckenzie for the tiring Chris Dandie and Craig came close with a free kick.

From a walker kick-out Mathew Cook knocked the ball onto Nicky Laurenson who lopped the ball over East End keeper to head home, making it 4-1 to Bervie.

Bervie brought on Michal Buchan to make his debut for Stuart Smith and Aiden Fotheringham for Mathew Cook.

It was a good all round performance by Bervie.
