Stonehaven travelled to Nicol-Togneri Park on Saturday to take on New Elgin in the PMAC Superleague.
It was the hosts who started brightest and after just 2 minutes were in front. The ball wasn’t cleared by Watt and the subsequent low cross was turned past Stark by McGettrick.
On 12 minutes a ball from Bellu to Armstrong resulted in a shot which was palmed out for a corner which ultimately came to nothing.
The hosts were having the better of the chances in the opening half hour but were unable to add to their advantage.
Stonehaven had a few half chances in the run up to half time but none of them able to significantly trouble the New Elgin ‘keeper.

With less than five minutes gone in the second the hosts had doubled their lead. A ball into the Hive box resulted in a free header to the corner of the six yard box and Riddoch shot low past Stark.
Two minutes later good work between Shand and Bellu saw Armstrong played in but his shot was blocked for a corner.
From the corner a handball was given against one of the New Elgin defenders. ROBERTSON stepped up and slotted low to the ‘keepers left I reduce the deficit.
Watt had a chance on 62 minutes but he was unable to find the target with his effort.
The equaliser came just a minute later when a ball over the top fell to ARMSTRONG who ran through and slotted past the ‘keeper to level the scores.
Slack defending nearly cost the Hive on 71 minutes. The ball was slipped down the left and Stark committed himself and was rounded before a shot was brilliantly blocked off the line by Goate and Stark was on hand to make a great save with the rebound coming off of the post.
Both New Elgin and Stonehaven had chances in the closing quarter of an hour to win the game but neither side were unable to find the target and the points were shared.
