Stonehaven faced Longside at Davidson Park on Saturday as they looked to pull themselves off the bottom of the PMAC Superleague table.
The visitors had a great chance to open the scoring after 28 minutes when Watt played a great diagonal ball to Duncan who cushioned a header to the back post but Lewis Shand was unable to find anything but the side netting.
Martin Shand came close when Mathieson sent in a cross from the left but his header was held by the Longside ‘keeper.
Stonehaven were on the attack within minutes of the restart and took the lead after 53 minutes. However, after Lewis Shand played the ball into the path of Taylor , he struck a fantastic lef- foot shot into the corner of the net from 25 yards out on the left hand side of the box.
The second goal came with just over 20 minutes left and it was Taylor again who found the back of the net with a great left- foot finish from just inside the penalty area.
Capstick spilled a Longside cross on the 75th minutes but the defence managed to clear the danger before the home side could capitalise. The Hive made sure of the points with a third goal on the 79th minute. Mathieson sent a great ball to Martin Shand who crossed to Taylor at the back post and he side-footed high into the corner of the net.
