Johnshaven Athletic holdsfundraising sports quiz
Johnshaven Athletic AFC held a fundraising football/sports quiz night in the Caley Golf Club, Montrose, on Saturday.
With 13 teams in attendance it proved to be a fun filled night enjoyed by all.
Quizmaster for the evening was Corin Gunnis who had a challenging set of questions for the teams which lead to a tie break question in round three.
The evening started with a game of Irish bingo with the £100 prize being won by Steven Page.
The individual round winners were as follows:
First round (sponsored by The Hillside Hotel) was Scottish Football won by Quick Blast Anyone (Captain Billy Candy) who scored 16 points.
Second round (sponsored by The Market) was General Sports won again with 16 points by Quick Blast Anyone (Captain Billy Candy)
Third round (sponsored by Aquaterra) was a timed 10 ten list won by Team Handsome & Robert (Captain Robbie Tringham snr) who scored the maximum 20 points for all the correct answers in the right order.
Fourth round was English Football and saw two teams tied with the maximum 20 points but after a tie breaker question The Gunners lost out to Quiz my Face (Captain Iain Soutar).
Fifth round (sponsored by Anonymous) was London 2012 won by Quick Blast Anyone (Captain Billy Candy) with 13 points.
Final place prizewinners were - 3The Gunners – scored 61 points, team members: Captain Baz Gourlay, Darren Gourlay, Jim Gourlay & Ross Allan; 2Quick Blast Anyone – scored 70 points (team members Captain Billy Candy, Dod Strachan & Chris Petrie, Eric Taylor; 1Quiz my Face scored 72 points - taem members Captain Iain Soutar, Bryce Elgin, Steven Page & Greig Soutar, wooden spoon winners ~ The Mighty MacLarens & Co- scored 26 points - team members: Captain Ali MacLaren, Nayls MacLaren & Baz Stewart.
