Full course used for the Texas Scramble

It was decided to go onto the full course for the Texas Scramble on Saturday. This gave the members a chance to acclimatise to the longer course before the start of the main summer competitions which start this Saturday with the Innes Medal.

Although the temperature dropped and the winds got up there was some excellent scoring in the scramble.

Top of the leaderboard was the quartet of Angus Martin, Craig Martin, Kenny Martin and Roger Smith with a nett score of 54.7 off a handicap of 3.3. This gave them a comfortable win over Kenny Duncan, Kevin Duguid, Ian Wood and Ewan Campbell in second place with a 56.1.

The Club is in the process of implementing an on-line booking system, which will allow members and visitors to book tee times from their own computer.

At the moment no date has been selected for the start of the system but members can now register on the system in advance of the launch date.

To register, members must use the “Membership Number” which has been allocated to them. A full list of “Membership Numbers” is displayed on the notice board in the Clubhouse. Once you have your membership number, you register by going to the Club website www.stonehavengolfclub.com. Click on “Members On-line Booking” on the first page, then click on the register button and fill in the form, starting with your membership number. Give yourself a password then complete the rest of the form. Click on the “Register Button” at the end.

Members should note that the gents Wednesday medal on April 11 has been re-scheduled for Wednesday April 18.
