Cornerstone to hold Harry Bannerman golf spectacular and dinner
Golfers are being urged to sign up for the inaugural Harry Bannerman Golf Spectacular & Sports Dinner, which is being organised by Scottish social care charity Cornerstone.
The event will take place at the Ballater Golf Club on Thursday, September 24, after which there will be an evening dinner with entertainment at the Palm Court Hotel.
The Golf Spectacular & Sports Dinner will be hosted by former Ryder Cup golfer and Aberdonian, Harry Bannerman. Former Scotland Manager, Craig Brown, will be guest speaker at the dinner.
All money raised will go towards supporting people with disabilities and additional support needs to enjoy a valued life. Cornerstone is encouraging people to sign up for the fundraising event, which will be run using the Texas Scramble format of scoring, with prizes for winners and runners up. To add to the excitement there will be an opportunity to ‘beat the professional’.
Cornerstone’s Director of Fundraising, Lisa Duthie said: “This is going to be a great event where local people can show their support for Cornerstone and have a fantastic day out at the same time”,
“It is sure to be a fun day, suited to both casual and experienced golfers alike, with all of the money going to such a worthwhile cause.”
Harry Bannerman added: “I’m delighted to be hosting this event in aid of Cornerstone.
“The Golf Spectacular & Sports Dinner is shaping up to be a fantastic day out - Ballater is a stunning course and the Texas Scramble format is a great way to get everyone onto the course and enjoying themselves.
“After the golf, I’ll welcome everyone to dinner and entertainment at the Palm Court Hotel in Aberdeen, which should be a great way to close the day.”
Tickets for the Golf Spectacular & Sports Dinner cost £500 for a team of 4 players, which includes arrival refreshments, lunch, drinks reception, two course dinner and entertainment.
