A community sports club is on the lookout for more members to join them for some fun and fitness.
The Laurenecekirk Ladies Netball Club which was initially formed a number of years ago is on the lookout for players of all abilities.
The club meet at Mearns Community Campus on a Tuesday evening from 7pm-8pm welcoming players over the age of 14.
Amy Stuart from the Laurencekirk Ladies Netball Club contacted the Observer this week to appeal for more players throughout the Mearns.
She said: “We meet for a bit of fun and fitness, as well as the chance to get out the house and socialise. We currently only have about 10 members and if for some reason a couple can’t make it then we can’t really play a game so we would love some new people to come along and join us.
“We are open to all abilities from the age of 14 and we don’t take things too seriously so even if you haven’t played before you’re welcome to come along and see if you like it. It would be great to get numbers up so that we can guarantee enough people each week. We have had to cancel a few times lately due to there not being enough players.”
The club used to meet in the old sports and folded when it couldn’t get enough players and was restarted again last year before moving to the new Mearns Community Campus when it opened in August 2014.
Amy added: “We charge £2 per week which helps cover the cost of the hall. We can be found on facebook, Laurencekirk Ladies Netball Club. If anyone requires any further information or I can be contacted directly on 07753 164740.”
