Members of the Grampian Tigers Stonehaven are getting set up for their first club event with a race this Saturday November 1.
The local youth cycle club will mark the end of a successful year of youth coaching by hosting an off-road cycle race at Knockburn Loch.
Established in April, to cater for the growing number of local children out and about by bike, the satellite club was set up as an offshoot of the long-established Grampian Tigers Aberdeen.
The club caters for riders aged 7 – 14 and focuses on three main disciplines of cycling; road, mountain bike and cyclocross.
Charlie Barrow, from the Grampian Tigers, said: “The Grampian Tigers’ first club-hosted event will take place at Knockburn Loch, near Banchory, on November 1 where children will race laps of an off-road course against riders from other Aberdeenshire-based clubs such as Deeside Thistle CC & Ythan CC.”
The club is also looking for more volunteers and coaches for the Stonehaven and Aberdeen clubs.
