Garioch Gymnastics Club, who train at the Garioch Community Centre, excelled themselves at the Scottish Beginners and Intermediate competition in Perth.

Some 27 gymnasts returned with a massive 31 medals - in fact, every team entered went home with some.

A spokesperson for the Inverurie-bas ed club - which has members from Kincardine - said: ‘‘Massive congratulations to all the Garioch Glitter Girls and their coaches.’’

Garioch is the most successful girl’s competitive gymnastics club in the north of Scotland and also has an extensive participation programme on offer to boys and girls from two years of age and upwards.

The club, in conjunction with Aberdeenshire Council, offer a quality recreational gymnastics coaching programme at various venues in Inverurie and the surrounding area. Recreational gymnastics classes are led by British Governing Body-qualified and very experienced coaches, who are all PVG checked and Child Protection trained, in Inverurie, Insch, Kintore, Oldmeldrum, Kemnay & Ellon.

Garioch Gyminis is a drop in class for children aged up to four yars old held at the Garioch Community Centre (behind the swimming pool in Inverurie). The class is a fun way for babies and toddlers to explore in a safe environment. Parents/ Carers must be present. Costing £3, it is held on Monday mornings from 9.30-11 and Friday afternoons from 1.30-3. No registration is necessary, just turn up, pay on the day and have fun!

Garioch Gym-Juniors is a structured pre-school gymnastics class run by qualified pre-school instructors for 2-3 years and 3-4 years – Monday mornings, Friday mornings and Friday afternoons.

The club run teenage/adult/ freestyle classes (for 14+) in Inverurie on Thursday evenings at the Garioch Community Centre, which is an excellent way to improve fitness while having fun – no talent, experience or booking necessary.
