The Mackie Micros P3’s travelled to Aberdeen on Sunday to take part in the annual Aberdeen Grammar Tournament.
This was contested with six other teams, Grammar and Wanderers from Aberdeen, Deeside from Banchory, Ellon, Garioch from inverurie and Howe of FIfe from Cupar at Aberdeen Grammar Playing Fields.There were 2 Mackie Teams, the Quarters and the Blacks.
This was a round robin tournament where there were five ten minute games against the other clubs.
The Mackie teams competed really well and showed the passing, running and tagging skills they have developed over the year delighting their families and coaches alike. With over 100 children taking part it was a great showcase of rugby from the youngest age group in the North East.
All the players and spectators had a great time at the tournament with the emphasis on fun and playing the game in the right spirit, with no winners or losers.
The Micros are now looking forward to our home tournament in two weeks time which promises to be a great day for all.
