Sooyang Do Martial Art clubs across the north east have done their bit for Sports Relief.

The clubs including our very own across Kincardine and Mearns took part in various activities to raise over £400.

Sooyang Do Martial Arts opened their doors to the north east to give that wish to participate a chance to come along and join in. The last of these sessions were held at Mackie Academy on Saturday, March 19.

16 Clubs have been taking part with parents, students and instructors challenging themselves for Sport Relief by swimming, running and cycling martial arts style.

The climax was at Sport Aberdeen where five Sooyang Do members from the Portlethen, Summerhill and Kintore clubs cycled 106 miles in their hour hour Sport Relief slot.

The club have a running total of £440 raised. The challenges don’t stop here as the club are looking to raise funds for CLAN Cancer support with a 12 hour focus mitt challenge which will take place next month on April 23-24 from 8pm until 8am.

The club said: “You can stay for 1 or 2 hours, or if you’re after a real challenge then adults and children over 13 years can stay for the full 12 hours”
