In this season’s section, away matches will be tough and this proved to be that.

Dod Buchan’s rink provided the only positive note which ended in a 60 shots top 100 defeat.

With another away fixture at Buchan I.B.C. this week, improved performances will be required by the majority for anything close to a positive result to be gained.

Rink scores (Stonehaven skips first) - G. Buchan 24 v 18 l. collins, D. Baillie 10 v 33 A. Duncan jnr, C. Stott 15 v 27 M. Campbell, J. Lawson 11 v 22 C. Banks.

Senior Men’s I.C.L. - Stonehaven Seniors had a good win on Wednesday, October 16, against Dundee.

Having trailed by 17 shots halfway through the game, they fought back to win by 69 shots to 63.

National Senior Men’s competitions - John Lawson was the senior singles representative and, after a good 21 - 15 win against host club Dundee’s participant, he took on Jim Douglas of Aberdeen but went down by nine shots to 21. Robert Smith and Bill Barclay had a terrific tussle against the Aberdeen pair of Jim Christie and Gordon Brown but narrowly went out by 17 shots to 19.

The triple of Ernie Pratt, Irvine Forbes and Arthur Watson found the going tough against Forfar’s trio, going down eight shots to 23.
