Kincardine and Mearns Ranger events in August

The following events have been organised by Aberdeenshire Council’s Kincardine and Mearns Rangers:

Thursday August 7 - Pebble Beach, Stonehaven from 2-3.30pm.

So many pebbles so many stories! Find your favourite pebble on the beach and discover Scotland’s rocky past. Make your own rock to take home. This will be a joint event with the Tolbooth Museum. Meet at the Tolbooth Museum, Old Quay, The Harbour, Stonehaven.

Saturday August 9 - Marvellous Minibeasts, Auchenblae 11am-12.30pm

How many bugs and beasties can you find in the woodland at The Den in Auchenblae? Discover the secret world of the minibeast. This is a joint event with the Auchenblae Parks Committee. Meet at The Den, via Kintore Street, Auchenblae.

Wednesday August 13 - Rocking Rockpools, Stonehaven 10-11am

Can you see claws and tentacles waving in the rockpools? Find out who they belong to at the rockpools of Stonehaven beach. Places are limited. Meet at the Cowie end of beach road, overlooking the beach behind the outdoor swimming pool, Stonehaven.

Friday August 15 - Bat Night, Portlethen, 8.30-9.30pm

Who comes out to feed when the sun goes down? Find out more about the bats of Portlethen on this evening excursion. This is a joint event with NESBats. Meet at car park Portlethen Parish Church. All events booking is essential with the kincardine and mearns ranger on 01569 768292 or email
